Have you noticed more surgical gloves, masks, and sanitizing wipes carelessly discarded on the ground during the coronavirus pandemic? More people are out walking. More people are hitting the trails, and unfortunately, more people are leaving trash behind. These items, along with many other common litter items, often end up polluting storm water drains and harming wildlife.
Lend a Hand
One of the simplest ways to have a direct environmental impact is to clean up litter in the community. We’re dedicating this day of Earth Action Week to clean up more litter! Sustainable Claremont’s staff and board members are going to be out in the community, and we need your help! You choose exactly when and where to participate. Whether on your block, on a trail, or at a park–just grab a used bag and fill it with trash wherever you find it!
If you collect any trash, be sure to share a photo with us on social media (Facebook
) with the hashtag #TRASHTAG
(or send us an email)
so we can spotlight your good deed. To show our appreciation, we will deliver (locally) Sustainable Claremont swag to members of the community who send us photos of themselves participating!
