Let’s Clean Up!

Activities & resources:

Have you noticed more surgical gloves, masks, and sanitizing wipes carelessly discarded on the ground during the coronavirus pandemic? More people are out walking. More people are hitting the trails, and unfortunately, more people are leaving trash behind. These items, along with many other common litter items, often end up polluting storm water drains and harming wildlife.

Lend a Hand

One of the simplest ways to have a direct environmental impact is to clean up litter in the community. We dedicated one day of our Earth Action Week to cleaning up litter! Sustainable Claremont’s staff and board members went out in the community and we collected over two dozen bags of trash! Check out our clean-up efforts in action on our Facebook page.

Together, we are making a cleaner, greener community!

If you collect any trash, be sure to share a photo with us on social media (Facebook or Instagram) with the hashtag #TRASHTAG and #OneTreePlanted (or send us an email) so we can spotlight your good deed. To show our appreciation, we will deliver (locally) Sustainable Claremont swag to members of the community who send us photos of themselves participating!
