In 2018, a working group of Sustainable Claremont (formerly known as “ECOFARM”) established a pilot community composting program at the Claremont Friends Meeting House.  This program collects the food waste of 30 to 40 households and composts it locally, diverting the waste from landfills, reducing GHG emissions, and generating valuable compost for local gardens. Members pay a small annual fee cover the cost of managing the composting operation, and in return they may take high quality compost home for their personal gardening use.
