Events: Sustainability Dialog: Foraging Our Urban Forest

December 6, 2021
7:00PM - 8:00PM

Description

Join us via ZOOM as we host author Douglas Kent to explore responsibly foraging our urban trees! Foraging is a great way to acquire free locally grown food that has minimal environmental impact. It also promotes self-sufficiency, diversifies your diet, and is a great recreational activity. You'll be surprised to learn about the edible foods growing in our local communities!

Kent is an author, activist, educator, and specialist in ecological land management. He has been working in California’s landscapes for over 30 years and has written books such as Foraging Southern California, A New Era of Gardening: A guide to gardening for oxygen and a healthier atmosphere, and Firescaping: Creating fire-resistant properties, landscapes, and gardens in California’s diverse environments.
