Events: Earth Action Week, Day 1: Plant a Tree

April 20, 2020

Description

Each day during Earth Action Week Sustainable Claremont is featuring a different action-item  that community members can commit to in honor of the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day. Today's featured action-item is: Plant a Tree

Planting a tree takes only minutes, but the benefits can last generations. Plant a tree in your yard and watch it grow as it captures carbon from the air. A typical sycamore will sequester more than 5,000 pounds of carbon over its lifetime. That’s equivalent to the emissions produced by driving from Claremont to Vancouver and back!

Become an active agent in climate solutions: Make your Pledge for the Planet today in honor of Earth Day's 50th Anniversary. If today's featured pledge isn't within your means, follow the link to our Pledge for the Planet form to check out a list of alternatives. We hope everyone can find more than one action item they can commit to!

Do you already practice climate-friendly habits? If so, we'd love to hear from you! Fill out our pledge form by marking the actions you've already committed to.

All participants will be entered to win a native plant from CalBG’s Grow Native Nursery!  #Pledge4thePlanetSC
