Events: Sustainability Dialog: Complete Streets & Active Transportation

March 22, 2021
7:00PM - 8:00PM

Description

Many of the 21st century's most pressing challenges are connected to our streets. Gas-powered cars and trucks are the #1 source of greenhouse gas emissions in CA. Wide expanses of asphalt contribute to urban heat island impacts. Stormwater that isn't captured pollutes local waterways. Addressing these issues at the local, state, and national level will require changing a 70+ year paradigm of designing streets for a single purpose - moving as many vehicles as possible - to a more nuanced approach that balances the diverse needs of a changing world. Join us for a presentation and discussion with Active San Gabriel Valley Special Programs Director, Wes Reutimann, and Alta Planning + Design Planning Associate, Ryan Johnson.
