Our transportation choices have an enormous effect on energy use, air quality, health, economic issues, and climate change. The Transportation Action Group is working to increase the number of people who travel by bus, train, bike, and on foot, to increase the availability and efficiency of public transport, and to support the development and use of less polluting cars.
Current Project: The Transportation Action Group is supporting the City's Pedestrian and Bike Committee in its "Bike Rodeo" and other activities on Earth Day to promote walking and bike riding. In addition, it is supporting the completion of the sidewalk along Foothill Boulevard between Mountain and Berkeley Avenues as part of its effort to promote walking, whenever possible, as an alternative to the use of cars.
