An understanding of sustainability issues and their complexity is crucial to solving the problems we are facing as a species. Education at all levels from kindergarten through college must address these issues, and schools should lead our sustainability efforts by example.
Current Project: The Schools Action Group is working with Vista del Valle and Sycamore elementary schools to plant no-dig, water wise demonstration gardens. Students are involved in the construction of the beds, planting seeds and harvesting vegetables while teachers seek ways to integrate lessons from the demonstration gardens into their curriculum
