In addition to the Action Groups, there are several Operating Committees whose purpose is to facilitate the running and activities of Sustainable Claremont, and to help the Action Groups. Any member of Sustainable Claremont can join one of these committees. Each of these committees chooses a representative to the Board, just as the Action Groups do.

Outreach Committee

• provides publicity for Sustainable Claremont
• writes articles, other documents and the annual report as directed by board
• edits/formats material for Action Groups and Operating Committees
• maintains online resources such as website and community-wide sustainability calendar
• works to increase membership
• keeps track of community involvement in sustainability

Finance Committee

• handles money for larger organization
• keeps membership list
• helps Action Groups find funding for projects

Special Events Committee

• organizes the Earth Day Celebration
• organizes the Annual Meeting
• organizes information booths at various events
• assists/coordinates Action Group special events as needed
